Arash Naghavi, PhD Moffitt Cancer Center, USA
Arash Naghavi, MD, MS, is a Radiation Oncologist in the Department of Radiation Oncology at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Florida. He received his undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Houston and his medical degree from University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). After a year at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Dr. Naghavi moved to Moffitt for his residency in Radiation Oncology. Beginning this year, he has started a Personalized Medicine Fellowship at MoffittWith a background in genetics and mathematics, Dr. Naghavi has an interest in evaluating the utility of gene expression and radiomics in the prediction and potential treatment of cancer. During his Radiation Oncology residency he was exposed to Moffitt’s institutionally derived molecular signature, the radiosensitivity index (RSI), predictive of radiation response in multiple disease sites. Much of his research during his residency focused on soft tissue sarcoma (STS) and genomics. He recently joined the department of Radiation Oncology, specializing in STS, with a research focus in evaluating the utility of genomics and radiomics in an effort to personalize the treatment of STS, optimizing their care.
