Clayton Alderfer 1990-2003

Clayton P. Alderfer is Professor of Organizational Psychology and Director of the Psy.D. Program in Organizational Psychology at Rutgers University Graduate School of Applied and Professional

Psychology. He has been editor of The Journal of Applied Behavioral Science since 1990. Professor Alderfer has written several books and more than 100 articles on organizational

behavior and change and has won several prizes for research. He is on the editorial boards of Family Business Review and the Journal of Organizational Behavior and has coedited the series

Advances in Experimental Social Processes.

Professor Alderfer has taught in management programs at Cornell and Yale Universities, the University of Michigan, and the University of Monterrey, Mexico, as well as at Bell Laboratories

and General Electric. He has served as a consultant to a variety of institutions in both the public and private sector. His special interests include group and intergroup dynamics, organizational

diagnosis and development, race relations in organizations, board-management relations, and personality and leadership.
