Dr. Baskin is Professor Emeritus of Medicine and Biological Structure at the University of Washington in Seattle. His research activities are in the area of diabetes and obesity with particular focus on gut and brain neuroendocrine mechanisms that regulate body weight and food intake. He has served as President of the Histochemical Society and President of the International Federation of Societies for Histochemistry and Cytochemistry. He is former Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Histochemistry and Cytochemistry.
