George W. Bohrnstedt American Institute for Research, USA

George Bohrnstedt is a senior vice president at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) and an AIR Institute Fellow. His work at AIR has included leading major educational evaluations and work to assure the validity of the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). Trained as a sociologist with correlative emphasis in educational psychology, Dr. Bohrnstedt was an academic for over 20 years; his publications include books and journal articles on statistics for social data analysis, sociological methods, educational evaluation, social psychology, and social and educational measurement. He has chaired the Section on Methodology for the American Sociological Association and was a coeditor of its yearbook, Sociological Methodology. He also coedited Sociological Methods and Research and edited Social Psychology Quarterly. He was also a Fellow at Stanford’s Center for Advanced Studies in the Behavioral Sciences and currently is a Fellow in the American Educational Research Association.
