Kristin Murphy, PhD is an Associate Professor of Special Education at the University of Massachusetts Boston, USA. She received her PhD from the University of Florida and an EdM from Harvard University. She teaches courses on special education and qualitative research methods. Her research interests include professional learning opportunities for preservice and inservice teachers; special education law; exclusionary school settings; mixed reality simulations as an active learning tool; and photovoice. She has published her research in journals including Exceptionality, Teacher Education and Special Education, and Teachers College Record and has received multiple awards recognizing excellence and innovation in teaching and commitment to mentorship of students.
