Michele L. Cote, PhD, MPH Wayne State University, USA
Dr. Cote is an Associate Professor in the Department of Oncology at Wayne State University School of Medicine and Graduate Faculty in the Public Health Sciences program and the Cancer Biology program. She is also the Associate Center Director for Education and a Scientific Member of the Population Studies and Disparities Research program at the Karmanos Cancer Institute. The focus of her research is the intersection of molecular epidemiology and health disparities. Specifically, she is interested in examining genetic and molecular factors in lung and female cancers that impact disease occurrence or prognosis in underserved populations.She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Michigan, her Master of Public Health from the University of Alabama, Birmingham, and her PhD in Epidemiologic Science from the University of Michigan. She has been on faculty at WSU since 2005, is an active member of the Epidemiology of Endometrial Cancer Consortium (E2C2) Steering Committee, and a Midwest Regional Center Investigator with the Women’s Health Initiative.
