Mirya Holman Tulane University, USA

Mirya R. Holman is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Tulane University, where she also has affiliations in Environmental Studies and with Tulane Law School. She has regularly taught classes on urban politics, urban public policy, state politics, gender and politics, and environmental politics, along with undergraduate and graduate methodological courses, including her book, Women in Politics in the American City and her co-edited volume Good Reasons to Run. She is the author or coauthor of more than sixty articles published in leading outlets like American Political Science Review, Climatic Change, Journal of Politics, Perspectives on Politics, Political Behavior, Political Psychology, and Political Analysis. She has chaired the Diversity and Inclusion Committee for the American Political Science Association’s State Politics and Policy Section, as well as sitting on the Urban Politics’ Executive Board and award committees. She has an extensive research record, focusing on gender and politics, state and local politics, environmental politics, and criminal justice.
