Simine Vazire University of Melbourne, Department of Psychology, Australia

Simine Vazire is professor of psychology at the University of Melbourne.  Vazire earned her PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, and was a faculty member at Washington University in St. Louis and the University of California, Davis, before moving to Melbourne.  Her work in the area of social and personality psychology examines people's self-knowledge of their own personality, behaviour, and reputation.  Her work in the area of methods and metascience examines the validity of published research in psychology, and common practices and norms in research and in peer review.  She is the co-founder and past president of the Society for the Improvement of Psychological Science (SIPS). She has been editor in chief at two journals, and associate editor at seven. She teaches research methods at the undergraduate and graduate level.
