Srinivas Venugopal University of Vermont, USA

Srinivas Venugopal an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Vermont’s Grossman School of Business. Srini’s research program examines the intertwined nature of consumption and entrepreneurship in subsistence marketplaces, where more than a billion poverty-stricken entrepreneurs run micro-enterprises to meet basic consumption needs. Srini has published 17 articles on this topic in reputed academic journals such as Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, and Industrial Marketing Management. These papers are based on field data gathered from diverse contexts of poverty across five continents. Srini is an executive editor for the Subsistence Marketplaces Journal, and he also serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Macromarketing and Journal of Consumer Affairs. Recently, he served as a guest editor for Journal of Consumer Affair’s special issue on Subsistence Marketplaces.
