Professor Gin S Malhi holds a University of Sydney Chair in the Sydney Medical School and is head of the Department of Psychiatry at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. He has a longstanding clinical and research interest in mood disorders particularly bipolar disorder and depression.
Utilising clinical and neuropsychological assessments in conjunction with neurobiological probes, he leads the NHMRC funded clinical research program at the CADE Clinic (www.cadeclinic.com) to investigate the neural basis of affective disorders.
He has published extensively on mood disorders with over 300 research articles and reviews, and is routinely invited to National and International meetings to communicate research findings and provide educational seminars. He is the Editor of the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry (ANZJP) and president of the Australian Society of Bipolar Disorders and Depression.
