This book was more concerned with medicine than psychological processes in acute illness management. However, there are a couple of useful chapters in there which I will be recommending to students.
This book provides excellent additional reference for caring for the acutely ill patient. It is easy to understand and refer to in small sections to support students learning in lectures but also as easy reference in clinical practice.
A good generic text covering the essentials in acute care, an excellent recourse for those new to the acute care environment.
Thorough background reading for the subject.
This book looks at acute illness as a whole. It identifies the pathophysiology of acute illness in an easy to read manor. Enabling the reader to grasp the concepts and apply this to the theoretical concept of acute deterioration.
An excellent book.
This text is used on the pre-reg Nursing the adult requiring critical care module. It is also an easy read for qualified nurses, particularly newley qualified, on other post-reg pathways and would be suitable for revision prior to OSCE's.
Almost immediately after I started perusing this book I realised what a gem it is. It is straightforward, offers clear explanations and provides visual, diagramatic information. I will recommend it to my first year group as an excellent introductory text.
