Mouzon, Dawne M.

Dawne M. Mouzon Rutgers University-New Brunswick

Dawne Mouzon is Associate Professor in the Sociology Department at Rutgers University. She received her Ph.D. in Sociology from Rutgers in 2010 and a Master's in Public Health from Rutgers in 2004. Her research interests are health disparities, social inequality, race/ethnicity, aging, and families, and her published research has appeared in sociology and public health journals. She has also contributed two essays to the SAGE text, Getting Real About Race, about ethnoracial health disparities and Black marriage patterns. Prof. Mouzon regularly teaches her department's two courses on the social determinants of health/health disparities. She also designed a Health Disparities Certificate program at Rutgers that enables undergraduates to receive an honorific distinction with their Bachelor's degree.
