Sara Melo, PhD is a Senior Lecturer in Management at Queen’s Management School - Queen’s University Belfast, United Kingdom. She received her PhD from the University of York, United Kingdom and was a Highly Commended winner in the category of Healthcare Management of the 2014 Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Awards.
She teaches courses on strategy and human resource development. Her research interests include healthcare management and the use of new technologies (e.g. robotics, sensors, artificial intelligence, etc.) in healthcare and in other industries. Her work has been published in the journals Social Sciences & Medicine, International Review of Administrative Sciences, BMC Public Health, Human Resource Development Quarterly, and Journal of Health, Organisation and Management, among others. She co-authored a book entitled Quality Management and Managerialism in Healthcare with Palgrave Macmillan.
