good content if rather wordy - useful for advanced students who are dedicated to qualitative methods - Dr Daniel Valentine - LSBF, London
A really accessible reader on qualitative research in organizations that goes way beyond a 'how to' guide. The chapters cover exactly the sorts of issues and challenges that may face students as they begin to undertake their own research projects and there is a clear sense of offering practical approaches without diluting the rigour of theory. It is particularly helpful that there are clear chapters which explore the different approaches to the analysis of qualitative data, something which some of my students struggle to grasp. This book is a great addition to my reading list.
The book will definately make an impact on students understanding of research particularly chapter 2 which deals with research philosophy.
Good level of detail given that most students undertake qualitative rather than quantitative research for under-graduate dissertations.
