Sam Ghebrai recently completed their PhD in Sociology at Western University in London, Ontario. For their dissertation, Sam examined court decisions, tribunal decisions, and correctional policies to interrogate how sex—as a social and legal category—is used to challenge trans rights and erase trans identities from public spaces. By exposing how these ideas are upheld in law and society, Sam highlights some structural barriers to gender self-determination.

He specializes in conducting quantitative analysis using large-scale national data sets.

Dr. Fei Yu is a research faculty member in the UCLA Department of Biostatistics and a senior statistician in the Jules Stein Eye Institute. His interests are study design, causal inference, large complex databases, and correlated data.
